Stop in for a cup of coffee

Got back onto 51 merc with valve issue. 5 foot pry bar to get the guide out of the block. Shined it up and re-installed it with clip in correct spot. Now clean up and install cyl head.

Dustpans and Demons have 3" less wheelbase? I always figgered for production sake they were the exact same platform as the Dart/Valiant. View attachment 1715946259
From 67 to 73 all plymouth and demon A bodies were 108 in. Wheelbase
67 to 73 all dodge a bodies and scamp were 111 in. Wheelbase

regardless of 2 or 4 door.

In 74 all plymouth a bodies were 111 in. Wheelbase like dodge because starting in 74 the valiant used the same body as the dart.

I don't know what GM gets for their crate BBs, but Blue Print shows an attractive 496 at what looks like a decent price.
Blue prints engines are very fairly priced. Just enough to make finding an engine shop and going thru all that drama not so appealing. Cost isn’t that far apart. If they’d only offer RBs , I’d been tempted to look at them. But they don’t due to not enough quantity of useable blocks.

If it wasnt for shipping i would be messaging Johnny Mac. mind you, the engine i posted would be coming from the west coast.

Ya made me look  I had never noticed there were no BB Mopars in the catalog.

The freight from Nebraska should be less than from the left Coast. Wait a minute, that would be a reasonable assumption and reason seems to have no place in current civilization.

Starting at $6789.
Not sure what hes planning yet. He never told me the price.
There is a reputable builder that a few members in the local car club have used. Going to hit him up too.

Yep. Been asking them for years. If they could offer an RB under 10-15 grand, they’d sell like hot cakes.

My old work mate got a new Rodeck block for his dragster for $200  His son worked for Rodeck and they had a block headed for recycle because the distributor hole was slightly out of place . John Rodeck told them they could have it free if they paid to have it done properly. :D

How you doing Rainy? Been missing your wit in the coffee house....
Just hanging out and spending too much money.

Bought some more cars this year and everyone keeps telling me to stop buying mopar projects but I don't have a problem, I can stop anytime

Lol. I have a 66 dart completed. A 67 440 powered dart 95 percent completed. A 66 Satellite convertible no where near completed. It is a healthy hobby.

Beats being a crackwhore LOL I work with too many of those and i often think they really could use a better hobby LOL

I am a protector of cars, if we don't save them, they are going squish and probably to china.
It's our duty to put them somewhere safe and prevent that.

Got some fuel this morning. Not even a quarter of a tank.. This has to come to a head soon...

As the circle of chairs close, the coffee pot gently purring in the background, cookies all in a row. The large Blue stylized M dominates the room. We hear in a soft strong voice those famous words, “ Hi my name is Rainy” Hi Rainy!
