68 Barracuda 6cyl. vs. 318 K Frame Question

No, not the same.

6cly A body K frames have different motor mounting locations than the SB (V8) K Frames, BB (V8) K frames are different as well in other areas.

67 is a Unique K frame /6, SB V8 or BB V8 due to the Idler Arm type, 68 through 73????? SB V8 K frames are the same and use a biscuit type insulator. 74???? through 76 SB V8 K frames use a different engine mount and use a spool type insulator

thanks for the info, would the only difference be the actual motor mount locations? same bolt in frame otherwise if that makes sense?

Yes. The 4 bolts on the body are the same location, suspension / steering mounts are the same. Some people have converted a /6 to V8 by welding on the V8 mounts in the correct locations. I recall seeing a how to but could not find it. There are also conversion engine mounts that will allow a V8 to be installed into a '/6 K frame.

Lot of good info here.

IIRC; as to engine mounts, between slanty and SBM, only the driver's side is different. You can cut it off and move it, but IDK if it can be reused without modifying it. Ima going from memory here ......
68 to 72 are biscuit-style, while the spools came in 73. Big-blocks use different mounts again. As mentioned the 67 has a one-year only idler-arm mount.

It’s the passenger side that is different. Kim

thanks everyone for your help, with the difference between the 67 and 68 SBM K frames being the idler arm would the rest of disc. brake and suspension from a 67 work on a 68 K frame?
