I'm putting together a 318 for my Dart with an LD4B Edelbrock intake. It does not have the bosses to mount the stock coil bracket. I saw that 340 six packs had a bracket to mount the coil strap to. I've looked at dozens of pictures of 340 six packs and the way the relocated coil sits, you can't see where the relocation bracket is attached - intake bolts?, valve cover bolts? Has anybody used one of these who can clue me in? There are dozens of folks selling them, but their photos just show the bare bracket and I just can't wrap my head around how it works...

If I recall it mounts with the back two intake bolts on the passenger side. The bracket is specific for small block six pack only.
The rear carb was in the way to mount it in the traditional spot.
I would dig mine out and get some pics for you but its deep in storage. I cant find nothing on the net with good coil mount pics on SB. A few big block ones. The few I saw had the incorrect bracket or home made bracket.

Heres mine, sorry hard to see/messy. Mounts on either side of big runner. They use the intake mounting bolts to mount.

I bought the 340 6 pack coil mount when I upgraded to a LD4B intake a few years ago. Needed to do some grinding/carving on the coil mount so it would fit around the intake plenums though. You’ll need to do the same.

It appears that its not a very photogenic area but yeah, thats what I was thinking.
We used to just move it to the firewall since it would run cooler.

Kind of interesting. Did mopar use a epoxy filled coil for that application? I am thinking oil filled.

The stock coil bracket is bolted directly to the intake manifold in the same area, how much hotter could it be??? Eventually this car will get a D-66 and two fours so I'm hoping this will be a solution for both manifolds...
