Repop Dual Snorkel Hood Scoop, any good?

-
That looks like it is made th way the one I just put on my Shelby Dakota. Consider it a 25 footer. The snorkel openings are not totally symetrical. The finish was pretty good. It is a little wave in spots. All of the mounting bosses were lower than the bottom edge and had to be cut flush. Didn't have nuts captured in the bosses, had to drill and cement the mounting studs in place.
My son had ordered it a couple of years ago, off ebay. Arrived with slight damage. Over all, the scoop was worth so much, the seller at the time simply issued a refund and said to do whatever he wanted with the scoop.

I do like the look, tho. Put a little more work into it, than I did and you might be happy with it.

Funny thing I just noticed. When I clicked on your eBay link, it said I already bought it and gave me a choice to buy again. It is the same seller my son bought from. Seller was cool about the refund when it all went down. I just found it interesting that it wasn't worth his effort for an exchange.

I sure wouldn't pay the money being asked for an original!
Funny thing is, the Sixpack scoop was cracking badly on my b-body, and I had this old (real, original, Mopar part#) raisin bran scoop laying around, and it kinda looked like a maxwedge scoop....... so i modified it to fit the center rib on my 62 savoy.....
Kinda wish I hadn't ground on it now. It might pay for the glass hood I really want.

The e-bay scoops are very rough—snorkels are not symetricial.

Glued some 60 grit to the hood and sanded the bottom to fit my Charger hood.

It all depends on the chances that you'll take the vehicle to a car show and be parked next to an OEM scoop.

If the chances of that are low, go for it. Otherwise, be prepared to hear, "that's not an OEM scoop" about 500,000 times.

What I'm trippin' on, is how hard can it be to take a decent mold from an original?

Well, if I'm right, he's putting a demon/dart style scoop on a charger, so he might get those comments. I have the same scoop on a 62, but I've never heard anything.....
Of course, my 62 isn't supposed to have any kind of scoop.

Made a drum sander out of a drill bit and a piece of 1/2 PVC.

Update; in the process of straightening the right snorkel, I sanded through the glass.

Had to re-glass the top. Finished with plastic in this pic.

After some matte black rattle can. Now it's a ten-footer.

It's far from perfect but acceptable for now. I will finish it up when I paint the car.

I'm not at all worried about it looking OEM. Nothing on my FrankenDuster is very original. Nor will it EVER be in a show that will be professionally judged, especially in Alaska.:usflag:

So to answer @AlaskaJeff's original post.
These cheap 170-dollar scoops are rough. This particular one had a twist/warp in the right snorkel, making it look like hell—a lot of work to make it look decent. Also, the inside of the snorkels is VERY rough.
Fitting to a Charger Hood wasn't that bad, maybe easier on the Duster Hood.

Here is the eBay pic of the scoop I bought. You can see the snorkels are not symmetrical in this pic.

Here is a pic of a 339-dollar scoop from Classic Industries.
It would be well worth it if the part is as good as this picture.

Maybe someone on here has experience with this Classic Industries scoop.
The bottom line is (like others here have said) Don't buy the cheap scoop.

HA! Thanks.
It appears to be the same crap.
I just realized that pic from Classic Ind I posted looks like a drawing.
