The thread is still up believe it or not. It has settled down and many members from here have come to Barry's defense. Barry was a seller on yet another site and the buyer didn't follow his directions about the sale and payment. You guys will have to read through the thread. It is pretty comical in places. Cheers!

I read through the entire post. It sounds like the buyer made an honest mistake between a money order and cashier's check. I can see that happening. He apologized a number of times.
It just takes 5 minutes to put the check in an envelope and send it back. That would be the adult thing to do.

Not following instructions is not a reason to call red flags on Alaskan T/A. Barry is a great guy and specified in rudimentary instructions how he wanted payment.
I have bought from Barry and even been visited by him, he has done more for the hobby on a slow day than most have in a decade. He is a busy guy and is well known as being a guru.

I can agree with a busy guy and knowing quite a bit about cars. But when an issue comes up it needs to be dealt with. Mistakes are made by buyers and sellers. Be very careful when you put someone on a pedestal-they will fall off.
i agree with 4spdragtop and d5667. the post he made about the incorrect dash vin tag was stupid on his part. try to work it out but i think it has gone way too far now for either to back up. although i think op said he sent a return envelope to t/a. "to be continued."
