Interestingly enough, I got a call from somebody that I don't know just last Friday looking to sell a slant in the 209 area code (not sure what town). Then, out of the blue I got a call from cudajim yesterday looking for one. The point being there are a lot of people out there who know me AND have my phone number (I have friends in this hobby that I've known since the 1970s). I don't know where the guy selling the slant got my number, but I've known cudajim for nearly 40 years.

That's how this (or any) hobby works. Names being out there and that takes time. 40 years ago there were still lots of parts in salvage yards up and down the valley. Now, there's just a few places left, so knowing people is the way it works now. Trying to do this without knowing people is much harder these days.

As for putting an LS where a Mopar engine used to be, I do know a guy who now lives (or works) in Patterson. BUT, his is an all-out race truck (seen on one of the Street Outlaw type shows a couple of years ago - I think he broke it). I'd never do it, but I know why he did. Also, until trying to make real power, there's no reason to reinvent the wheel. The LS has a ton of aftermarket support, but if you want under 400hp any V8 family can do that.
