Got a tip from @69FBCuda the other day on a CL add that was kinda close to me, 2 1/2 hours close, one way! Contacted the seller and made arrangements to come pick her husbands parts hoard. Gathered our trailer and Theresa and I left the house this morning . Made a stop just North of Tampa for a meet up with a guy named Paul that is a friend of @barracudakid to drop off some parts he had bought from me earlier.
Just got back home , all day deal , I think I got a lot of good parts to keep me busy for a while. A lot of new "Name this Part " episodes in the near future I believe. Didn't have time to take any pics yet, quite a bit of High Performance SB, & A body stuff. Theresa & I have a lot of research to do on a lot of this stuff, once we get things figured out some I'll start posting sales as usual ! Stay tuned , and keep me out of trouble , nothing will be sold on this thread !

Make sure its the parts you are handling. She may be looking for more then cash. Let us know her figure and what her hair color is. Leave your wife at home for a better deal.

I got an R3 block in the deal Fresh from the machine shop. Has a set of new pistons and rods and a new crank I hope for this block, haven't gotten to check anything yet.
What can anyone tell me about an R3 ?

Third gen Race Block. T/A, X, then R3. There are different R3's . Lifter angle and height, Deck height, and Engine mount tab's. Shaved head bolt holes, The lifter valleys also differ on some mine is a later resto block with the head bolt holes shaved for use in pure stock.

Maybe I will pick your brain when I this stuff sorted out ! Would the part # on the block tell you anything ?

Ok, let me explain how this typically works . Somehow I find a hoard of parts someone wants gone and some cash. And it keeps getting to be more cash ! In this case a member here gave me a tip. ( Thanks )
So I make arrangements to come look it over and make a deal. In this case it's 3 hours away. Theresa and I load up and gas up to make the trip. $75 gas ! Spend most the after noon looking and gathering the parts, Make an offer to the Lady. She has to ask her husband who is on life support, cannot communicate to anyone but her , by blinking his eye. (very sad life, for both ) .Anyway we agree on a price and I have to load it all up. In 93 degree 98% humidity. Thats always FUN.
Gas up again , another $68 in gas. Drive home 3 Hours . Spend the next day unloading and make room in our garage for more parts.
Spend the next day sorting it out. what to keep, sell or scrap, and there is always a lot to scrap. And it wasn't free !
Spend another day taking pictures and getting them on the Puter. Find out what some things are ! Thats fun !
Then take an evening to make up a sale that I have to monitor all night . I think I have gotten that down to a Science. I have not shipped the wrong parts to the wrong guy , That's always good ! Then I box parts the next day, Theresa gets the quotes for you all and then I have ship them all , sometimes she takes the to the PO or UPS drop off.
Hey , I enjoy it for the most part, make a little cash back to help on my projects !
SO all in all, I want to thank All OF YOU that buy my parts and FABO for letting me hang out here !

Sorry , it turned out longer than I thought !

Thanks Al! Always enjoy your posts, and I think we are all in agreement that you have a very special woman there!
