TRYING TO FIGURE OUT MY EMBLEM PROBLEM

Sorry for the caps but I am losing it on this car...

My holes do not line up with the standard barracuda emblem and the extra holes you would think would be for the fish are at the front and the fish is in the way if the barracuda emblem would fit. Driver is towards the back and passenger towards the front.... I am lost... Eddie is trying to figure this out for me as well but more the better.... This first photo is drivers side.

Only a few thoughts come to mind. Obviously the emblems you have didn't come off of that fender, and I believe 67/68 are the same. You may have the earlier 65-66 emblems or the '69. Not sure if any differences exist.

Fish goes to the back on both sides. We could easily get to the bottom of this if you were to show us the fish and script front and back left and right. Was the directional on the fender filled in? What are the hole measurements, might as well be starring into a puddle.

65 script is 7" pin to pin
67 script has a long tail on the "a" w/3 pins 5.5" pin to pin
68 script is flat with no outline
69 script has a short tail w/3 pins 5.5" pin to pin

Fish have 2 pins the same size and length not to be confused with trunk fish which have 2 pins one longer and fatter than the other.

Pins also vary on fish and script, you can either work with what you have or find the correct replacements

My 67 fish is 5.5" pin to pin, so possibly a 68 or 69 fender that had the directional filled in.
 
I would investigate the backside of the fender for filled and drilled holes......
 
All the holes (5) look to be there, they look to be in the right place, maybe you have the wrong emblem/badges.

This is just a wild shot in the dark but is it possible those cars had a different sized emblem for say the trunk or somewhere and you were sold the wrong one?
