1965 Dart Crewcab daily driver
Guess I probably should have started this back in January when I got the car, but oh well...
The subject is a '65 Dart sedan. Only options are 225 and A/C that is from close to when it was originally sold.
My other cars at the moment all get terrible fuel economy, so I got this to be my daily. To that end, I am slowly puttering away at little bits and pieces and making it a little better for me every day. Some of the things I do will annoy people, some may seem illogical, but I do them because they work for me. When I got it the tires were cracked and fuel was pouring out of the carb. It also didn't have front brakes and the speedo pegged at 120 when I drove it, among numerous other small things.
So far I have done:

So far I have done:
- Carb rebuild (Holley 1920)
- Solid state voltage regulator
- Electric ignition (Rick Ehrenberg's kit), plugs, wires
- New 13" tires (Hankook)
- Replaced the terrible 80's tape deck with a broken factory unit
- Put an Android Auto head unit under the A/C, along with 4 new speakers
- Made the A/C work
- Giant aluminum radiator with super skinny Mercedes mechanical fan
- Put in a thermostat, because the lovely previous owner thought no thermo would help
- Replaced front shocks, installed rear shocks (there weren't any!)
- Installed the world's most expensive speedo cable
- Tossed on a beautiful gas cap from sdj234
- 80's Chrysler remote trunk release, aftermarket keyless entry
- Dakota gear reduction starter
- H4 headlights with a proper harness
- Slightly more powerful alternator (55a, woo!)
- All new brakes
- Upper bolt for the thermostat housing (vice grip works for now)
- Front suspension rebuild
- Steering rebuild w/20:1 box
- Electric fans - went through six different iterations before I went back to mechanical.
- LED interior bulbs - They were bright, but didn't like fluctuating voltages and kept burning out.
- 140 amp alternator - fire bad. Melting wires bad.
- Cheap Amazon H4 harness - first time I have seen a fuse actually melt without popping.
