I use 1.66/7 ratio rockers. I used the comp cam that’s a little smaller than this before. Didn’t give me the times I was shooting for
I put hotter plugs in,bump timing up to 36, pump gas 93 and go out driving. Very streetable

Are your rockers from Hughes ? Did hughes do the CNC work on the heads ? Great combo you have put together, thanks for sharing.

I wish I could get into using nitrous but I can’t. I guess I’m to old school and like doing things the hard way. My small block junker would probably be in the 8’s and I’d feel like so what.

Comp rockers 17002-16. Hughes CNC and milling. You’re welcome
If you don’t mind divulging, what level of Hughes CNC work was done. They list 3 levels. Basic like a clean up, stage 2 & then stage 3, AKA - Big Mouth.

Thanks again. Job well done!

Too bad you feel that way. In my eyes anything you do to go faster is a power adder. Some cost more than others but I’m all about bang for the buck. My kids live out of state and I tell them all the time, don’t care how you get here, just get here. Bad analogy I know I watch all motor guys run very fast times but they have2- 3 times the money in the combo. Budget magnum was the goal and I did it. End of this season I’m going turbo gen3 hemi and not looking back. 8 second build here I come. Unless of course you want to sell me your junk and I’ll spray to the eightsTake care and happy 4th of July . I do like your combo’s and post’s fwiw

i was wondering through the cable channels like I often do and up pops a show called Hot rod or something so I recorded it and and another episode. It was on safe usage of a 150 or 250 shot of nitrous. I went to watch it around 10am this morning and my cable messed up. 7 hours later it’s still out. I can’t even remember if my Sledgehammer kit goes from 250-700 or 350-750 but I know I have 1000’s of dollars invested in it. Maybe one of these days. Lol

I'm in the boat with John, I have nothing against nitrous, it's has never appealed to me. A turbo Gen III is a different story.

If I could find a good early 80's swb Dodge truck w/air I'd sell my Dart and build a turbo 6.4 driver.

Here's a pic of 1 of our NSS brkt cars, runs a 540 wedge, 727, caltracs, Dana, 440-2, 1050 Dom and -1's, s/roller in the .700''s, don't know full spec, weighs in@3300lbs@line, runs consistent 9.8's with the odd 9.7, been 141mph, normally in the 138's

Nice! Haven’t had duster out in 2 months. Bought house with bigger garage. October events coming up so I’m gonna throw everything thing at it before winter

well not good. was in a hurry, didnt pay attention, etc. and hurt magnum.
air was damn near perfect! so first pass no good, pulled plugs and number 4 not firing
swapped plugs and instead of making some motor passes to make sure all was good, went right back to lanes. went for the hail Mary and she said nice try!!!!!!! halfway down track and total smoke show(blue)
loaded up and went home... no knocking, good vacuum, idles ok,no missing. haven't pulled plugs or valves covers yet. thinking rings, valve stem seals? rule 1# for nitrous for you guys thinking of using it. detonation is BAD, REAL BAD! dead cylinder full of oil, fuel.
for you experts, i know i should have known better.
oh well, looks like it's time to step up!

That’s what having fun is all about. Sorry to hear of the hurt.

72 Dodge Dart, 360 stock block bored .070 over with partial hard block fill. Custom stroker crank with 3.650 stroke using 6 inch SBC rods. Cubic Inch works out to 383 with this combo. Eagle pistons. W2 econo heads with mild work done to them. 13.9 compression. Victor W2 intake, Quick Fuel 1050 carb. Comp Cams roller cam and lifters, Norris stainless steel rockers. TF727 built by fellow mopar racer Clifton Finch, Turbo Action Cheetah MRVB with brake, 9 inch Dynamic Converter with about 4500 stall, MSD 7AL2 ignition box with 2 step and MSD crank trigger setup. TTI headers. Tory Shellehamer front suspension with ladder bar/coil over rear. D60 with Moser axles and spool. Richmond pro gear 5.13. Car really woke up after Clifton Finch rebuilt my transmission in late September. Found out the original builder didn't perform any of the modifications needed when running a brake. Very happy with the cars performance now. A lot of fun and so far very reliable and low maintenance. This engine is on it's 3rd full season and still going strong!
