Bring A Trailer - ‘66 Dart Convertible 4-sp. Not Mine

-
@AlaskaJeff this is in your neck of the woods!
One that has been hiding in Anchorage. Unfortunately I know nothing about this car. Believe it or not there are many nice muscle cars and such vehicles that are kept hidden away and rarely see the light of day in Anchorage. Such a shame.
IF anyone is seriously interested in it I could help out with an in person inspection.

Looks like a not all numbers matching, but heck that is a nice car

I’m thinking that if you buy it, I’ll rent it from you 1-2 weeks each summer.
I’d would take you for a fishing trip in it!
I know that’s a hard proposition to pass up!

Would be a really great driver if it goes for ~10K ish. Transportation from Alaska to the midwest would likely be a deal killer.

My first car was a 66 dart. I would love to have it, but unlikely that I would get management approval since I just bought another toy car a few months ago.

Has anyone bought a car off BAT or other auction sites without seeing it in person? Seems kind of risky unless it is dirt cheap.

Interesting that the car doesn’t have the 8.75. Chrysler sent out a message mid 65 that warranty replacement rear ends were to be 8.75s on 4 speed cars. This being a 66 I’m surprised this got through.

My old '66 Commando/4sp Barracuda (October 1965 SPD) still had a 7-1/4 in it when I got it in late 1980. Previous owner was a friend of mine who got it in 1975. By the end of 1981 it had an 8-3/4 3.23SG.

I really like this car, but I'm not in the market for anything...

Yeah, mid 65 the dealers were getting 4 speed cars in with busted rear ends. Since the 8.75 was coming out in 66 with that rear standard in 4 speed cars. NHRA followed suit and issued a rule change in 65.

Not all '66's with a 4 speed got the 8 3/4 either. I've seen several virgin Formula S Barracudas and other 4bbl cars with a 4 speed that still have the 7 1/4 in it.

Nice looking car. Mostly stock, but, a couple things missing (certicard holder, fender tag), and some aftermarket parts (battery, gas cap, voltage regulator, jack hold down spring) and the wrong air cleaner decal (Commando instead of the correct Charger). It's an early '66 build from Hamtramck and I would have thought it would have had a front sway bar, but, I guess the original buyer didn't think to order it. I'd be curious to see what it sells for.

Bid is up to $10k, 5 days to go. At least 2 people like it.

Do BAT sales usually complete? I know eBay has a horrible record.

is the 66 dart longer in the front than a 65? seems to me the "fins" on the top part of the fenders end differently on the 66 than the 65

Here’s a couple of verts a member sent me. The red car is a Commando 4 speed
