Dart Hemi Convertible

I agree, I have a more stock looking radiator, but for now I'd like to make sure that cooling is not an issue and the setup I have in there now has proven reliable in the past.

Painting the intake would be another idea. might take your eye off that area and keep your distributor incognito. Your distributor being all black blends nicely.

View attachment 1715200443 So a very talented friend of mine drew this rendition for me. It's a 1971 Dart convertible. It will have a 426 hemi, with a 4 speed and a shaker hood, Dana, 15" ralley wheels, black top, black paint, black interior, black carpet and a flat black bumblebee stripe. I have a donor convertible that will most likely never be restored as such because it is so far gone. All the "bones" are there to make this a viable project for me. I have an extra hemi block, transmission, lots of sheet metal, wheels, etc. The reason I chose '71 as that was the last year Mopar made a 426 convertible. What do you think?
Will be stunning !

Doesn't look a whole lot different, but the Sniper is in and operational, the interior is in and complete, exhaust is installed, and the to-do list is about a 1/4 a page, the big item being to install the top. I ended up not going with TTI's as I figured out a way to install factory manifolds, and it looks really great.

Outstanding!!! I was planning a Shaker on my 68 Barracuda but went with a new idea, "8 barrel hood" I call it. I think the Shaker looks great on your car. Here's a pic of the only A body Barracuda ive seen.

The peak in the middle of a 69 Cuda hood is a natural lead in to the Shaker front point.

STR-14 made a new peak on his hood for this.

I've decide to go with a dual Sniper EFI
Won't that minimize the shaking that the shaker hood would show off?

You might want to introduce a misfire to get a good shake when you want to show off the shaker hood:rolleyes:

Is the interior 67 or 71?

Also I see you have 71 year of manufacturer plates. In Colorado the YOM plate has to be the year of the car (different in CA?). Since your car is a 67 can you use those plates?

The interior is a 71 from the dash to the console to the seats.
In Alberta we only have 1 rear license plate, no front plates, so you can put whatever you want on the front. If you have personalized plates, they come in pairs. I can use old car plates of any year I want, after I register the car with a normal plate or classic plate, and then re-register the old plates that are displayed, so that they are tied into the normal plate when the old number is run by a peace officer. And then there is the classic car plate which gets registered once, for life, and comes with usage stipulations.

What did you do regarding the rear seats and the side armrests?
The rear seat was just recovered to match the fronts. The side armrests were repainted to match the interior. The car itself started out life as a 67 convertible.

Went for a maiden voyage tonight. about 40Kms without a problem.

Sorry. Forgot to do an update. Couple of small teething problems, but nothing significant at all. Runs great.

Truly awesome. Great vision and execution on this project.

Any pictures out in the open with the white bumblebee stripe?
