I researched this out and am fairly familiar with the little differences. ( Speedo cable hookup, etc. ,etc.,)
Found a guy here with a 1967 complete dash (metal dash, dash pad ,cluster, pot metal bucket, circuit boards, switches, radio, wiring, everything) for a decent price.
I am considering buying it to improve my 68.
What I want to know , (since my dash cluster, gauges , etc., are so trashed) , is if I could just put all this into a 68 Barracuda metal dash. or would I need to swap out the metal dash as well?
As I recall you need to pull the windshield to swap metal dash. yes?
PS, please redirect if this is a thread somewhere, I looked but couldn't find it.
thanks
Neal

There are a few differences, the main being the radio is knob type in the 67 and thumb wheel type in the 68. Also, the 68 has a different dash pad and the 68 has the lower pads as well. There is no VIN on the 67 dash frame, that didn't start until 68...

The dash pads are different between these two years. 1967 uses only the upper dash pad, 1968 uses the top dash pad and two bottom dash pads. The ash tray between both is different as well. I believe there are differences in the glove box knobs, not sure in detail.

I think you can just swap the instrument cluster easier. The heater controls are different, but can be adapted.

Yes ideally I would like to leave the 68 metal dash in it. (In fact I have to for the VIN!!) Just swap out the goodies. I guess I will just go ahead and buy it as its in great shape and complete and cheap enough, and just in case it doesn't work I can sell it off and go back to my POS cluster and gauges..

I think you can probably selectively replace parts & sell off the leftovers for good money.
