Transmission Cooler Install

I’m going to be installing a Transmission cooler. Does it matter where the lines hook up? There are no directions in the box and where the hoses would attach to the cooler there is nothing marked. Not using the radiator. So basically just hook the lines up to the cooler and not worry about which line is which? Thanks
 
I have never seen an aftermarket cooler that was flow specific, and I have installed quite a few.
 
Does the cooler indicate IN or OUT? if not than no it doesn't mater
 
Ok thanks- so it’s not flow specific that answers my question.
 
Inlet should be on the bottom so the fluid can push the air bubbles up and out of the cooler into the trans…

I agree, but if it is more convenient to have it mounted otherwise, trapped air should not be an issue especially if it is the continuous tube type. The stacked type might make a difference.
