Friends' car. 69 Dart GTS. I'm going to remove the rear side window regulators tomorrow & I would like some in-put on doing this correctly. I have removed the glass & won't have access to a service manual by tomorrow morning. Should the regulator & tracks be removed as an assembly? Regulator placed in the middle of its travel for removal? Remove it from the top like the glass or remove it from the access hole in the interior panel. I will most likely be the one putting it back together when car is painted so I want to remove it in the right order for easier re-assembly later. Thanks for any info.

You can download a manual for free on MyMopar.com

With that, mark all of the bolt, nut and whatever else location on the body. You will be glad you did when you reassemble it and honestly, if it work fine and needs no repair I'd leave it installed as its a ***** to get set right again. I think when I took mine out it was a mix of whatever worked to get them out. The manual tells you how to set the glass right but its a bit vague.

When you but the upper seal for the front and rear winder to go into, but the Steele Rubber seal, its the only one known to work like the original.

Im no help. As said above go to MyMopar and download a manual. I junked a HT and got the regulators out. They all kinda unbolt / come apart and with some turning around and wiggling they "come out." Other than that not sure what to tell you but "play."

Getting them back in might be a different story. Maybe a camera and take some documentary photos.

Thanks for the help. I would like to keep them in place but, they need to be re-adjusted & surely need to be cleaned & re-lubed. I will take pictures & mark all the fastners, mounting locations, etc. when I remove them but still not sure about getting them out of the car body. I will see what it says on MyMopar about that. Thank you, guys, for the in-put.

They are no fun to do as I found out when I restored my Dart. I made sure to wear long sleeves because of all the reaching up into the access holes to hold onto things while trying to make adjustments. Scratched the arms up on the sheet metal pretty good before I got smart and wore some protection. But as stated earlier, be SURE to mark every nut/washer holddowns with a sharpie before you take anything loose. That will get you close when going back together. I didn't do that and made a lot more work for myself trying to find the sweet spot again that allowed the windows to go all the way up into position relative to the door glass alignment and then back down as they should to the park position. Yeah the Mopar book "kinda" tells you how to do it but it's not real specific as to all the adjustments. And I also found and learned that a "little' gets you a "lot" when it comes to making any slight changes in the regulator holdown adjusters. Hope this helps some. Good luck!

I need to replace the cat whisker on my quarter windows, do the windows need to be removed for this?

It will make it easier for sure. I did mine when the glass was out so it was easy. I'm not positive that you do, but I'm pretty sure that the glass in full down position, will be somewhat in the way of getting them out where the glass curves at the top and will make it a pain to do if at all. The tabs on the whiskers need to lock into the slots to snap in and I think with the glass in the way, there might not be enough wiggle room to do that. Like I said, my glass was out so I had no issues. Never tried it with the glass in before. You might be able to drop the glass adjustment down far enough to get the glass below the whisker so you can get in there and remove the old ones and install the new ones. I do remember that those new replacement whiskers bend pretty easy when trying to install them so the easier it is to work them in, the better. fyi!

Yeah, I looked at the factory instructions & they are pretty vague. I will have to figure it out as I go. I did install the same type on a friends 66 Chevelle SS & they were a P.I.T.A. too, but I got them in & adjusted right, it just took a lot of time. I will take a lot of pictures & be very careful when it comes time to re-install them.
