I'll try......
1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe convertible
Factory 318/904/7 1/4 rear. 10" drums all around
Bought as basket case.
O.G. iteration: Stock 73 340, 727, 8 3/4 with 3.23.
2nd: Same 340 with .508 Purple Shaft, Holley Strip Dominator, milled to **** J heads with 2.02, 780 vac. Secondaries, same 727 and no damn stall, 3.91 gear.
3rd: Stock 70 340, same 727, put 3.23 back in. This 340 was plum wore out. Re-rung it anyway. Broke compression rings. ****...
4th: 318 put of a 71 Polara figure 8 car, 340 cam(OMG that doesn't work!), TQ, 727 replaced with 998, 3.23 gear. This served well for a few years. Ultimately, after too many hard revs, the Teener spit a wrist pin clip. Thus, Ka-Boom in the most boring fashion.
5th: 50k 360 out of an ambulance van. 340 cam. Same TQ, Used the 998 with a balance flex plate, same gear. This served very well for a fee years too.
6th: Off the deep end. Quit mud racing. Had all my driveline left. Aluminum headed, 15 to 1, 408. 727 with T/A trans brake and 5000 stall, 4.56 gear. Stock driveshaft and 7260 joints. This is when I started drag racing. Full brake launches, 11.40 times. This is when I learned about "Rules". Slow down or go home. Damn, on to the next....
7th: Stock 76 Chrysler 440 long block, Hughes Whiplash cam, headers, 727 from same engine, 3.23 rear gear. Slow? Yes.....
Still basically the same combo with carb, intake, convertor upgrades.
Not sure yet, BUT, it may end up with my gen 3 426 with a 4 speed........ We'll see!!!
This one is with me forever.....
Bought it in 88 as a basket..... Still going....
