Get the basic Bosch units at O reallys. Replace every 6 months if you park outside. You can spend more, a lot more actually, but the expensive ones don't last longer. In the winter, completely scrape the windows and don't expect wipers to be snow shovels. Keep the washer reservoir full and don't let bugs or sap build up. Keeping the glass and the blades themselves clean helps them live.
