We got there Wednesday . Sold half by Thursday.

Spend half of what we made on things we needed. There were a lot of nice cars and many more over priced pieces of junk and clones. I believe most venders just come to set up and hang out. There prices are so high that they must take most of what they bring home.

But that a side there were many good deals. Used parts we bought cheap were.
Max wedge valve covers
B-1 top end
Wilwood race brakes
66 Valiant grilles with medallion
66 clutch pedal assembly
snorkel scoop only because it was real cheap at $75
4spd carpet
4spd hump
AC box kit
AC firewall kit
Body paint kit
71 and 72 Demon headlight rims $60 for 6 couldn't pass them up.
Scoop Dams.
There were many more items but those were what I went for.

Food was expensive and the rolls were stale.

We Took a trailer load and came home with a few boxes of smalls of our items. We go there to sell and buy. Made $7,385 and spent half but we had fun. 2 1/2 days

It was fun and we left Saturday at noon when the rain hit. We were in the usual flood zone so we were out of there.

We met many members but don't ask me to name all of them. Plus made many more friends from all over the country.

The members I do remember are " Hcar " Howard carr and the most fun who I always can't wait to see was " badlillred79 " Mike That man is a blast. Oh yeah Mike The rain hit before I came with your Burgers. Hope your ribs aren't showing. Don't forget the Pie , Steve

Sounds like you had a good time. You sold parts made some money and picked up some decent deals. 65'

Although I didn't make it personally, a friend of mine did. Said it was a good time. He scored me an 850 Competition Series TQ for 200!

Good to be back to Carlisle after missing the last 2 years with the border closed. Weather was very hot just like other years.
Got to meet halifaxhops, moparmitch, oldmanmopar and his son. Met up with raptopfury to pick up my new PST steering box, that he was nice enough to let me use his address to save on shipping to Canada.

Noticed some vendors missing this year... gas tank vendor that usually has a large display of gas tanks for sale, Accurate Exhaust, and ECS.
Used car corral was smalled than other years, as they sold some spots for swap meet vendors.

My best deal was a clean a-body z-bar with the frame mount for $40.

I, at the hands of a then good friend, managed to make it to two Mopar Nats, one at Columbus, one at Indy (I think it was the first year? 25th anniversary of the 69's)

but these days that would be a very long and expensive trip for this old man. Plus I'd need a 'scooter' or something to navigate the event

I much prefer a Mopar event to a "car show." Custom rods lined up like soldiers in a squad, 19 out of 20 with a SBC and I don't mean "Chrysler." Chevelles lined up like cordwood.

Saw a pair of real clean big block, A body exhaust manifolds for 1500.
Went back on Friday, still there
Decided to make an offer, while I was waiting to talk to the owner, another guy walks up and goes right to them, he offered him 1000, the owner said no, cant let them go for that, gotta be north of a gran.
So the guy offers him 1100. He said okay. Sold right in front of me!
Oh well. Didnt say a word.
Truth is, the best time to make an offer, is when you see it.
Dont wait.

Yeah, you cant screw around with stuff like that. Gotta get it when you see it the first time. I learned the hard way

On Thursday, around 4:30, saw a guy with lots of seats and other items.
Asked about A body bucket seat tracks, he said Tony D'Ag bought all his seat tracks as soon as he was unloading, a few hours earlier.
Nothing left for us little guys.
Lol
What happened to the "No Early Birds" signs you used to see at garage sales.

He used to do that crap at the Bristol, Tn show!

Tony hits the vendors as soon as the gates open and people are setting up. I saw him do it at MIR years ago. Thats how you find the best deals. Another way is to hit the vendors who are in the process of packing up their stuff.

You need a vendor pass it seems.

We have been going to Carlisle since the late 70s. This year was first time for Chrysler only

it’s only been a year since we purchased our 72 Duster and 69 Roadrunner. I’ve been a life long fan but there was never an abundance of them in this area. Harsh winters with tons of road salt .

I expected more cars for sale?

For the amount of cars on the fairgrounds at least it seemed few were there strictly to sell?

.Trying to get the wife to come off her 56 Chevy gasser so we can have an all Mopar family.

Yes….Same here in Wednesday afternoon and out Saturday at about 3:00 pm. I mentioned to a friend, I need to flip one of these guys a couple bucks to touch my parts. Then I can price my stuff the way they do…!! Yikes..!! I saw a ton of parts with prices I couldn’t even figure out how they came up with asking prices..?? And I am not talking rare or hard to come by stuff either. Anyway had a great time as always. Sold a bunch of stuff. See you guys next year..!! Swingn’

A lot less cars for sale than usual. A lot of the car corral spots were sold as vender spots the last couple of years.

That’s why you see swap spots with no one selling anything in them. They are using the spot to get early access and a convenient place to dump parts.

I’m sure Tony D gets double or more for the parts he buys like that.

Probably does. That is the business he is in. He can’t pay retail and sell retail, he won’t be doing it long. I have bought from him a few times. Always tough to come by items. Prices in line with anyone else who had the same parts. Always very good to deal with. His contacts help secure the deals ahead of time.same with many of the bigger vendors….Swingn’

Same deal at "hamfests." Back when I was more active, some of us would "go in" on a table, whether we sold anything or not. Got us in the door early

I can't stand blood sucking leeches like him, and I would say it to his face. Go out like a man and do the leg work and hunt down your **** if you make a living at it. These are events put on for the benefit of hobby enthusiasts to pick up parts from other like minded individuals. Sure professional vendors are welcome to come SELL their products, for the betterment of the hobby and their bank accounts. BUT DON'T COME AND BE A DICK AND DO THAT CRAP. Have some damn morals.
