Looking at every website Napa AutoZone everyone that sells parts and I can’t find an exact replacement single barrel carburetor for my car. Napa doesn’t have them listed or the rubber gasket as being available . eBay doesn’t show any new ones only old garbage . What can I buy as an exact replacement , linkage , bolts hoses everything. Anyone know what is out there ? If answer is nothing let me know that as well .

Which carburetor is it? If you're not sure, can you post a good picture?

Same carb as the 225 I believe. Holley 1920 is my preference but the 1945 is an option. I’ve got a 1920 that would make a great rebuilder if you need it.

Mine says on side 1928 but I’ll post pics . I don’t want to rebuild honestly . I want new ready to rock if at all possible

I tried a 1-2 bbl adapter - it raises the carb to high and hood hits so now needing a single barrel ASAP

So I love this , but this is nothing like what’s on it now , linkage is all wrong. Anyone used this exact one on a slant and get it to work ?

I’ve been wanting to try one myself, you should be able to swap the linkage from your carb if it’s a 1920. Post a picture for us.

This is what has been in every slant I’ve owned but I’ve only had 70,71,72s

I don’t see how linkages can be moved from these things , the 2bbl I got was all wrong too and nothing lined up and saw no way to make it work. Little bummed my car is back together now other than a carb

A got k is if this will work as direct replacement for mine ? It’s close looking but still not 100% right

I just LOATHE the Holley carburetors Chrysler used on the slant 6. The Carter BBS is head and shoulders better, IMO.

I don’t know what mine is , can’t anyont identify ? I can’t find anything that even looks like it

That's a Carter Ball and Ball BBS. Read the side. It's printed right into it. BALL AND BALL. Right there in your post #9. Although I've never seen one quite like that one.

Ball and ball mean nothing to me lol . Says Chrysler corp lol thanks now I know

The original carb for a '71 198 is a Carter BBS 4955s (with manual transmission) or 4956s (with automatic), like the one shown in Johnny71Dusty's pics. One of the best BBS configurations ever put out; I used to pounce on these when I could find them. "Remanufactured" carbs done in the last 30 years or so are damn near useless junk. New old stock carbs are the best, but they've grown rare and expensive. Old-stock rebuilds from before that industry went bad are a pretty decent second preference.

With amounts of work ranging from "almost none" to "a few hours", other kinds of carb can be swapped on with good results. I ran the one-year-only (1963 B- and C-body with 225) Bendix Stromberg WA3 on my last '71 Dart; easy swap and it was a really sweet runner; that's my other favourite factory Slant-6 carb. I still have a few of those on shelf, including a NOS unit, if anyone's interested.

The Holley 1920 is well down the list of desirable carbs. It has thoughtless design flaws and inherent problems, especially the '70-'73 units.

Thanks, Dan! I was hoping you might chime in.

Then I suggest you get some books and read up. These are basic things you need to know and it's not anyone else's responsibility or job to do it for you. We can't hand it to you on a silver platter. That's not how this works with fifty plus year old vehicles that may or may not have the parts they left the factory with. There are lots of great publications on Carter carburetors out there. I recommend getting a couple of good ones and read up. According to Dan, it sounds like you have a pretty desirable carburetor model and also one that's hard to find. You should read up on the rebuild process, as there's nothing to those carburetors and you can very successfully rebuild it yourself.

Just like 99% of all Holley carbs vs Carter's.
I didn't care for the 2210/2245 on the 360s and 400s, not the 2280s on the 318s in the late 70s and early 80s either.

Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download.

Ball and ball mean nothing to me

A long time ago, the Ball brothers made carburetors. Eventually their operation got absorbed by Carter, and the name remained for many decades. First paragraph here.

(when I was first starting out in the hobby, I thought they were called ball & ball carburetors because each carburetor has two check balls in the accelerator pump system!)
