I probably should have asked this before I bought the tires, but I'll ask now.
I bought the 29.5 by 11.5 w 15 Hoosier slicks.
They're a stiffer sidewall & d06 compound.
Has anyone ran these & did you like the performance of them?

I bought them to fit my 15 by 12 welds, the real dimensions are 30.6 tall 13.5 tread and 15 inch overall width. For my 70 dart 470 stroker, 4.56 Dana 60 auto. The car is still under construction so I don't know what it will weigh yet but with the extreme inflated prices of everything I will probably run it with all steel body parts for now.
Goal however is low 10s.

I run Hoosiers 29.0 x 12 x 15 for 8th Mile in my Duster. Also 4.56 Dana 60, 727 Torqueflite. They hook fine. I have to heat them up a little, a lot of folks don't even need to get the D06 smoking, just clean them off. If I was running 1/4 mile I would probably go with something taller, but their 31.5 x 13.5 x 12 is D07 and I'm not familiar with that compound.

Great, thank you I was really hoping to hear 1 positive thing. I had thought this tire would not get killed as fast as a real wrinkle wall and the height works perfect for the rpm I'd like to cross at.
I think the nearby track runs 1/8 mile depending on conditions, Its in a dessert valley and gets windy, dusty and pretty dang hot.
Anyways thanks again for your reply.

Yep, Time AND money. Then, there IS that Quality thing!
Definitely, I'm probably considered poor compared to most guys building a racecar lol.
Yes, the quality thing...I definitely can't build a death trap and look my wife in the eyes and say I'll be fine honey

Well, now that's kinda important.. and that "let's not build a Grenade" reliability deal. You know, you don't want to have the ball joints fall out at 125, and you want the car/drivetrain to do it again. And Again, and again...repeat! It's just too much money and WAY too much work!

I put a new pair of Hoosier 31.5 X 13.5 X 15s in early June with the D06 compound. Took a little bit to figure out the air pressure they liked and getting them 'broke in' but they work just fine. In fact, I had my best 60' time ever this past Saturday so there's nothing wrong with them.

Sweet that's great to hear and congratulations on your best 60 ft.

I've run the DO6 compound, but not the W with excellent luck. Depending upon track prep & temperature will determine how hot you have to get them. There is a small learning curve with the pressure but is easily figured out.
