I haven’t been able to find any after market oil pans for the slant six, but I’m hoping someone here knows something. I would prefer to not have to butcher two to make a bigger oil pan. I am wanting to build a performance slant build, part of which is a high volume oil pump. But I don’t want that high volume pump to run the sump dry. Any ideas?

Yeah, you are NOT going to find ANY aftermarket oil pans for a slant six - NONE. You might be able to get something manufactured to your spec if you can find someone willing to do it. Good luck with that.
Jus' sayin'.....

A high volume pump is neither necessary or desirable for use on a slant. The stock Mopar OEM slant six oil pump has a 5/8 thick rotor. Replacement oil pumps have a 7/8 thick rotor, so they are a high volume pump compared to the stock pump. A aftermarket HV pump has a 1 1/8 thick rotor. This pump puts a lot of extra load on the gear, and the extra oil is not required.
A deeper pan, with baffles is a good idea, and kind of easy to build. There are no premade ones out there. The simplest way to make one is to cut the bottom off the sump, and weld a 2 inch wide piece of flat sheet metal around the pan, and then weld the bottom back on. Add an extension on the pickup to drop it to the bottom of the pan.

thank you Professor Fate!
The only thing I know about, and it was not a high performance part, but Chrysler Marine put a huge aluminum pan on the Marine Slant Sixes. It has baffles on the floor and won't fit a K Member.
Most of the racers use a stock pan, add baffles around the pickup, crank scraper and a windage tray.

I was told by people in the know that you can’t put a crank scraper on the slant

Then they are people NOT in the know.

@805moparkid made a large sump pan for his slant 6 years back if he'll answer the tag. He's never on anymore, though. I got him on Facebook. I'll see if I can scare him up.

Here it is. He sent me the link. You'll have to click on the files it's such an old thread.

This is where I heard it. I have a lot of respect for UTG as he is very knowledgeable. He starts talking about crank scrapers at time stamp 10:12

I consider him a friend. I like him too, but he's not right about everything.

This is true, but I feel like if there was a mistake here he would have corrected it by now. He has a good history of correcting mistakes he makes when talking about stuff. Is what he said about the crank scraper starving the cam of oil incorrect?

Maybe. I don't know. I'm no oiling expert on anything. Seems plausible.

Most of the drag racing slant six guys over at .org run crank scrapers.
One of the racers makes slant six scrapers and has them for sale.
It seems like if there was any kind of link between crank scrapers and cam failures these guys would see that. They run big lobe lifts, large duration cams, lots of spring pressure, high rpm, for a slant. I did not watch the video as I am not a fan of ‘What’s he smoking Tony’, but this sounds like more of his malarkey. Where is the evidence and proof?
In a slant the cam lobes get plenty of oil from: the oil that feeds the cam bearings, the oil that squeezes by the lifters, the oil from the rocker shaft that runs through the drain holes in the lifter chamber.

here is a link to a sale article from Slant six.org the slant six drag race guy selling the windage trays. He also sells a crank scraper made for the slant six.

Windage Trays - Interest - Slant Six Forum

Rick C got into the slant six windage tray and crank scraper business after Mike Jeffery, another long term slant six drag racer and former drag racing National Record holder retired from making and selling slant six windage trays and crank scrapers. Mike made and sold windage trays and crank scrapers for maybe thirty years or so.

This manufacturer gets deep into optimizing the design to maximize the efficiency of their trays and scrapers.

A link to the I-J two piece slant six crank scraper. This set of scrapers work from both sides of the pan rail to wipe the crank counterweights. I have this model scraper in the slant six in my 68 Barracuda.
