Just a heads up the staff at NED has decided to suspend Saturday and Sundays events due to the heat. I was going to run a friend's Corvette in Corvettes vs Mustangs Saturday.....dont hate me.....oh well
Hell.............................the heat should make the track SUPER STICKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where I live (been 100 degrees for the last 6 days), the roads melt and get sticky. Of course, if it's a concrete track....that's a different story???Just the opposite

Back in the 60s I attended the Summer Nationals in Poteet, Texas...about 100 miles from here. It was hotter than hell (high 90s) but it was a blast!!!!!!!!
Yes, exactly.............that's what makes it sticky, have you ever layed hot tar on a roof then acidentally walked on the tar while it was still hot/warm? Around here during the hot summer you can drive real slow on a quite street, stick your head out the window and hear the the tar peeling off the tires.the sun and heat drawls the oil out of the track.

They are not alone ..my local / home track is closed for the weekend due to the extreme heat and conserving traction compound.. Atco announced they are closed for the weekend as is South Mountain due to the heat. I got to a few cruise nights with my D150 when I am not racing .. they too are not happening due to the heatNever mind. I’m out.
as it does the roads.the sun and heat drawls the oil out of the track.
as it does the roads.
Interesting...I live near Firebird in Idaho and it is hot out here. I looked at their calendar and all the summer races are in the evening. I never gave it much thought since I don't race.the sun and heat drawls the oil out of the track.

I'm in north Texas and I went to Xtreme Raceway Park last night. It wasn't as brutal as I thought it would be, and the track is all concrete so people were hooking just fine.Where I live (been 100 degrees for the last 6 days), the roads melt and get sticky.
