It's really coming together! Garage paint job didn't turn out as nice as I had hoped but it will do for now. Really liking the black grille and side mirrors. Hopefully a couple weeks and it will be running and driving!

It turned out really nice.
I just picked up an 85 2wd shorty to play with. 440 auto 8.75

Looking great!!...
Keep the pedal to the metal and you might get some drive time this summer still......

What was the test drive like? Freeway? Any bugs to work out or just all green lights?...
Sorry I missed your question, we just went slowly around the Crescent we live on just to say we did. I've been super busy what with starting a different job and all, so progress has been slow. I have all the wiring buttoned up now. What a job that was! I am just working on putting the interior together this evening and it's almost ready to go. If things go well, he can start driving it before Christmas!

I'm sure they'll be quite a few shakedown drives and working out bugs. It happens on every restoration I've ever done.... Even the most meticulous restorations end up needing a couple things tweaked and change and most need one or two things redone but usually it's a quick and easy job....

Well, here's a long overdue update! We have been driving it for over a year now. It has been my son's daily and my winter hot rod for over a year now. I am super happy with the carbureted 360 Magnum. The 727 is great, but I am going to start looking for an A-518 as it runs about 3000 rpm at 70mph. The bodywork is holding up well, but I should have put more coats of clear on it. We polished through in several spots. But hey, it was my first paint job!
I still need to install the underhood AC components, and retrofit cruise control from an older truck, but that's mostly it! There's always small things with these old rigs like you all know.
My son truly loves this thing! He is so proud of it, and I am so happy about that. It really stands out in the sea of Honda Civics at University.
