What’s the attraction?

I always wanted a 68 Fastback super stocker clone ..so finally one day I get a 1968 Fastback 340 car....I started plans to mini tub and 4 link...then a fellow friend really heavy into the scene said why did you get that style barracuda...I said what you mean..he said that's a woman's car back in the day....hmmmmm...didn't really bother me but I never could forget the comment...maybe he was just ignorant, maybe jealous...but he had many cars....I sold it and bought a few more Demons and Dusters and Darts oh my...

I’ve never been a fan of the 64-66 barracuda, I remember these cars growing up and thought they were butt ugly
Yea, not a pretty pair of years the ‘64 & ‘65 IMO which means nothing… LOL! It’s just an opinion. Like buttholes… everyone got one. I’m told more often than not that my Magnum just isn’t a great looking car, not a real muscle car (well no freakin DUH! there!) it’s styling of not all that great… the list goes on. The best was my good friends wife who walked up on us laughing asking “Did ya see that white and red “Pimp” car up front?” I laughed my *** off and offered a ride where she about turned red and said sorry. I just said “No worries and don’t apologize, that was a great comment!”
Now I have to go find “Huggy Bear!”

Once in a while someone’s says it’s cool or thinks that different is cool.

I really don’t care who likes it and who don’t since I like the car and got it for me and no one else. (Candy beat the price tag ether, $500! I’m sure many here are of the same thinking on there cars.
If some guy walks up on my car and starts running the mouth, I just interrupt and ask if the car actually bothers him. I say I can change that, I’m a magician! Turn around and take 5 giant steps, then say, take 5 more, no wait, take 5 more giant steps, then I say keep walking, your problem is fixed! Wa-La!!!

Not this fan fav but at the same time, WGAF?
As long as the owner operator enjoys it, it’s a HOMERUN!

There’s actually a bunch of models I don’t care for.
That just leaves room for the guy that does to scoop it up.
I say get what ya want and enjoy it. Screw the other guy.
But you wouldn't pass on one of these?

Now if you are talking ugly....
Every time I see a Tesla from the front all I can think of is....

Wade Wilson (AKA Deadpool) from "Wolverine" and the end of "Deadpool 2"

Those same safety regulations are in play today and today's cars don't look like that!

Now the duster style looks awesome
They didn't know about plastic bumper covers back then. They were still modifying chrome steel bumpers with shock absorbers and grey plastic fillers.

The 66s are not my favorite, but I admit they've grown on me over the years......but I would never start a thread sayin they were ugly. LOL

Early Barracuda's look great in dark colors, Black, Blue & even Green. The light colors, i could pass on. jmo

I love the 1st gen Barracudas and Chargers. Sweet styling for the time, IMO. Of course, I'm really weird and love the AMC Marlin and Gremlins as well! :D

Dead stock, I don't like those first-gen fishes too much.

A couple light body mods, though, and they're damned sexy

They don't have to be pretty as long as they have a little Mopar badassery!

I like the early Barracuda.
I like the beak cars too.
There's some Mopars that I don't like, but I don't say anything about it here. I Remember my momma said, if you can't say anything nice, don't say nothing at all.

Yes they are ugly, loveable ugly, they are just so cool. I’d own one in a second if I had any more room for projects. I don’t. Just like the first gen chargers, they grow on you. The illuminating gauges in the charger is way cool. But what do I know, I’m a notch guy. I’d take a hardtop over a fast back any day.
The interiors of the 66-67 Chargers are amazing but I have never liked the body styling.
The early Barracuda models do NOT appeal to me in the slightest. The early Valiant either...I love the 67-76 styling though.
One thing that really helps ALL of these cars is the right stance. A little nose down with big back tires tucked in transforms the look of a car.

I hated them so much back then that I sold my 66 D/Dart. I don’t mind them at all now. Even the 60s trucks were ugly. Now I like them. My how the times have changed. Kim
