1300 hp mercury comet brake failure crash

I hate when people take credit for something they don`t do.
Here I thought he did great body and paint work. smh:rolleyes:

My friends at the machine shop said what body shop it was that did the body but I forgot which one they said but do remember it was one of the premier, SEMA car type, shops. Best of Show in Escondido, I think.

That guy is a total kook.

actually I would stay quiet if I was a company with connections to that Mercury.
Lawyers like to spread the blame around especially if some of the blame can go towards someone with deep pockets.

Breaking News:

I stopped by my friends machine shop yesterday to check on the x-heads and LD6B. It's a father/ son business, Cogswell Marine and Motorsports in Chula Vista, CA.
They asked if I had seen the video of the guy from N. County San Diego with the red Merc? They started cursing him up and down. They built the engine. They thought he was stupid when he was having them build it years ago. They said he came in wanting all these parts in it that wouldn't work together but wanted over 1000 hp. They got him straightened out and it made just over 1,000 on their dyno. In the video he claims HE built it in his garage and it made 1,300 hp.
They also blasted him for using drag brakes on the street. I didn't catch that when I watched the video but what idiot uses drag racing brakes on the street? Those are meant to stop a car like one time. On the street, the more you use them the more they don't work, and he was riding them!
They said the guy installs audio/video equipment by trade and the wiring is the ONLY thing the guy actually did himself on that car. They said the only reason he has over 200k in the car is because he doesn't know how to do **** himself and bought a bunch of parts that never even made it onto the car because they wouldn't work.
I hope the family that got hit gets what they deserve. And I hope this guy gets what he deserves.
Lol! Sorry, it's actually NOT funny, but I had all of that pegged by the time I quit watching the vid at the dumbass brakes comment.
Having had people in My car or van that just came out of the hospital post-surgery, some major(above the knee amputation), to outpatient(repaired detached retina), this toolbag would lose everything had He rearended Me carrying My close friends or loved ones in that condition.

Yeah but does Uncle Tony's boiling brake fluid theory ring true? it looked to me like the MC pushrod may have came out of the master cylinder under the dash. the guy hit the pedal realized nothing there and went into an immediate panic.

Yeah, a idiot, hack, who also has a lifetime revoked license, making a video about someone elses disregard for public safety. The irony is thick on that one

Glad i'm not the only one that feels that way.. :)
I have found that, Uncle Tony is one thing those that defend him are a whole 'nother monster LOL! You could point them to that 318 failure called "The Lunar build" billowing smoke all day out of the passenger side exhaust, and they are oblivious, in denial about it. The proof is out there all you have to do is stay awake, sober, alert and watch, listen etc.

Is that the one that went to nicks and couldn't make oil pressure?

That's the one. The great master engine builder who didn't bother to measure bearing clearance. Std bearings on a .010 under crank tend to have low oil pressure.

Yeah.. i was even shocked by that one.. i'm pretty lazy but even i mic a crank :)

Or at least plasti-gauge it... If the plasti-gauge looks the same after you tighten the caps and check for crush as it did when you put the stuff in there, YOU HAVE AN ISSUE.

I won't watch or click on Ultimate Trashy Garbage videos. Plenty of other tragic humor on youtube that has better content.

Dont forget his video where he tells people to make sure they DONT put sealer on the freeze plugs, so they can fall out easier when it freezes. Unfriggin believable. No surprise that turd 318 was pissing water all over the dyno floor.

haha i hadn't seen that one

It's funny too, because that's not even WHY freeze plugs are there. It's just chance they got that name. Their correct name is CORE PLUG because they were part of the casting process. They were never designed to be pushed out by freezing coolant or water. They install way too tight for that.

Yeah those plugs sure saved a bunch of 340 blocks I've seen with cracks in the valley area. /sarcasm

Right, and water doesn't freeze in a way that would make a core plug work as a freeze plug. The water will get below 0° C and remains a liquid until the block can't contain the pressure of the expansion anymore, then it flash freezes and expands instantaneously, which causes the block to crack. It would take a miracle for that flash freezing to happen right where the core plugs are, and only where the core plugs are.
