I have a 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 4speed. The shifter is worn and adjusting doesn't improve shifting. What is my best option? Mopar shifter bench seat.
Thanks!

You can order a rebuild kit and rebuild it yourself. They are very easy to do.

I recently rebuilt four E body shifters. Here are a couple of pics.

In my experience
most shifting issues start when the external levers come loose on their studs. Soon the levers round the corners on the studs and then she will not hold an adjustment.
My solution for this is to remove the nuts and fill those gaps with Red loc-tite. The tricky part is to not let the locker wick up the studs and into the side-cover, which locks them right up.

My shifter was new in 1971, ............. it's been on a lotta different cars over the years.

As said above, a rebuild is the way to go, it's under $100 for the kit from Brewer's. I just did mine, it took about an hour, I following the directions from Shifter Doc that someone mentioned above.
