I must be dense but I can't figure out how this dial indicator fastens to a stand. I'm used to the type with the lug on the back and this style doesn't seem to have that. ????
After looking at your link, I've seen a 1/2 dozen, at least, online that are just a fraction of the price of the one you were looking at. Not that price is an absolutely positive indication(no pun intended) of quality.
I've had good luck buying good used precision machinist tools on ebay. Names like Starrett, Mitutoyo, Brown & Sharpe, etc for decent prices.
