What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Got my boys rat rod able to move under its own power for the very first time. 100% built from scratch, frame and all. Much to do yet. But landmark weekend.

I installed the new windshield washer pump I got at Carlisle, and took the car out for a long drive and a much needed wash. It ran great and I am impressed so far with the new sway bar install.

Not a darn thing with the car!! Washing machine decided it wasn't full enough and filled itself to overflowing and then some!!! Laundry room soaked and ran through the floor and soaked all kinds of things in the basement.

Oh well, forced and much delayed cleaning and pitching of accumulated junk I suppose....lotta work!!

Wow!
Nice!

Jeff

Thanks. I think I just wanna clear coat 'em, they look so pretty.
Jeff, would you chamfer those spark plug holes? I know it's probably unnecessary, and will never EVER be seen, but they just look so damn good!

Working on my truck some more, I bolted on a class 5 hitch onto my W200…It’s a BW hitch, very nice, US made.
The rules state any standard class 3-5 hitch is an acceptable hookup point for the truck pulls. I’ll be entering for the first time this year.

But its just a street truck, it’ll be bounce city. Front is too stiff and the rear is too soft. I should get rid of the lift. I need to clamp the rear springs, maybe add solid bars in place of the shocks, I won’t make it in time for a set of traction bars.
I need to buy me one of these…

Started putting the rear axle assembly together. Got the seals installed, installed the pumpkin into the housing, and started installing the springs. I got held up when I discovered that one of the shock support pins is bent. It might work ok, but I'd rather fix that than struggle with slipping the shock onto it or worry about the pin breaking off at some time later.

As a machinist, I would never send them out like that but I'd run them as-is!
But my customers are SpaceX, Boeing, etc....

Got the rear axle and differential sandblasted and ready to move inside for painting as soon as I round up a couple of helpers. Got the steering box and the rear springs installed. The brake operating control rods are detailed and ready to be installed in the rear axle assembly.

Let's get those engines out from back there...

By the time I finished all of that, it was 102 in the garage. Next weekend I'll start fitting the Edelbrock fuel injection then making custom brackets for the AC and alternator. ....

Aside from a few hanging wires that need to be loomed, interior is done.

Did you move again?

All I did was wash the Toyota and the charger and then my son and I went for ice cream!
After posting, I'll see if I can move the barracuda further into the driveway so we can squeeze three cars in. Some assgoblins keep keying the Toyota when it is parked on the street.
