Casper vs Bottle Rocket !

-
But let's keep to facts (I have no issue with either guy):
  1. Andy's custom headers are the biggest hold up, and he posted the video of the truck wouldn't be ready by NNN date for a 5 grand race
  2. The first time these two were supposed to meet, the 393 in Casper blew a rod through the pan on the journey to the race
  3. Many there will bring their merchandise to sell. Many. I would guess Tony will as well. Just a guess, though.
So let me get this straight someone blew a rod just driving there? Not even racing? And these are the you boob heroes that will definitely be there to sell their merchandise after all the hype of a race that's supposed to happen?...
I'm in the wrong business.....

Maybe I can help ya get the story straight (I doubt it lol). Andy Wood is a bonafide racer, was a NHRA event tech inspector, and has gone fast enough to need the parachute in his door cars. His 4k pound truck should turn 10's in the 1/4. Also, online sites such as FABO and Youtube are home of some of our hobbies best. As for the people, some prefer to say it and show it (youtube) instead of typing it and posting pictures of it (forums). In the end, the same thing right?

I won't be wearing your T-shirts. lol

I find it very distasteful to discuss charities that I give to... I'll wait for my blessing when it's supposed to come...
I don't think I even spent gas money on the duster in a year and a half and it has a 10 gallon tank...

I find about 99% of what you post about youtubers very distasteful. Many of the good folks right here have youtube channels, and many many more that are not here ... If you can't drive the Duster, fix it :)

I've been thinking of redoing some of my missing youtube videos like how to lap valves and such, but the people that make fun of folks wouldn't leave it alone so I probably won't trouble with it.

I love you boob! I learn a whole crapload on YouTube.. car stuff guitar lessons all kinds of stuff... All of the learning stuff available it's just when people go on about what kind of potato chips they're eating and their personal life and trying to make it seem like their life is any different than anybody else's... Their life is so interesting that someone really wants to know all the intricacies of which way they wipe their butt with their toilet paper.... That's the part that I don't like who cares....
The duster is in desperate need of an oil change and there's seven courts of pen grade sitting in a box in front of it... I've been having too much fun with my power wagon which mad yellow rat should have seen at the Mopar Nationals if he wasn't too busy watching his swap meet booth.... Every time I see him it reminds me of lieutenant uhura with the earpiece sticking out of his ear lol....
I say this cuz I noticed he's already agreeing with you I would look to see you agreed lol...

I like YouTube videos where you're learning something.... I don't see why someone would make fun of someone showing someone how to lab valves...
I like using a drill bit and piece of vacuum line from the back side and hooking it to the back of the valve stem...

I've got a few YouTube videos but they're mostly just showing my duster and thereby a request here so I used it as a platform to be able to post the video to the forum for people wanting to see the duster at the track or what it was doing but that was a long time ago.... Or maybe a couple of snowmobile videos so I can share them with family...

you must have learned that from 318willrun's old video ... lol

.
They can post whatever they want on youtube. Many people vlog their everyday life on it. If you watch it, that's on you. Pot is always calling the kettle black. Kind of like those that start a thread on their guitar lessons or snowmobiles on a car forum. I thinks that's a little bit of everyday life, huh?? Some think of themselves standing in a foot of snow is so interesting that someone really wants to know how they spend every minute of their free time. "I picked a lick on the guitar" ... well, a round of applause LOL

I absolutely couldn't give a care what folks make fun of on my threads or videos!!! Keep the videos coming RRR. Many accuse others of what they do themselves... lol

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about what you had there. Didn’t see you. Didn’t care. I was certainly conspicuous.

Get on with it. Don’t let the nattering naybobs slow you down. It’s easy to be a critic when you have nothing to offer.

Of course these threads were started as discussions back and forth on the general discussion part of the forum.. to have discussions and learn from each other about other stuff than cars... Just like there's a news and politics part of this forum... YouTube video is a one-sided deal.. anyways I believe they're totally different... And also you left out several other of my hobbies, what about go-karting!?... LOL...

LOL...
makes no difference where it's posted... be it youtube or forum... it's still sharing the small things of life, entertainment. Which, by the way, I am all for it! Sometimes it's the small things which help us "get to know" others that we may never meet. Builds a character around them. I think the thing you miss, is people that watch certain channels on youtube actually feel the same... I personally have a dry sense of humor.... and most of those that watch my channel know it and get it.

Truth be told I like you and I like it dry sense of humor... I don't follow anybody on YouTube I just use it as a tool... To learn how to do something... For instance I had to carpet a small bedroom recently and watched a 10 minute video and actually did it in about an hour... I did it for the cost of the carpet and a $13 knee kicker rental... That's after I got quotes for five times as much to have it done and 6 to 8 weeks wait time. I did it that day...
I think the discussions we have here on the forum are more of a give and take.. you get everybody's experience and are able to formulate the best plan of action..
Or as we do share like-minded hobbies be it cars guitars or mopas lol...
I think it's okay to say we look at things different without the need to bash each other about it... I love you boob for learning how to do stuff when there's a good video like how to rebuild a transfer case or something like that... But as far as a one-sided discussion about somebody's life well they're showing me something it gets a little uninteresting "to me".. although one thing I do like is to see people's animals in the background... or the occasional kiddo crash in the video lol.. but a quick turn back to the subject...

but I'm guessing you show up, watch the video, get the info and you be gone... probably forever from that guys channel. If the content creators can add just enough "character" to the video that not only do you get the info, but enjoy the content, then you may return again and again, even if it's just for the entertainment. That's how these communities grow. Even here, folks take a like into a guy and follow their threads because they "like the guy, not the project". And I think that's great!

I understand but again it's just not "for me".. My wife watches some lady who puts on her makeup everyday and I don't understand it... One of my friends who says he used to play the guitar and has one is always sending me TikTok videos of someone playing a guitar.. or pictures of mopar's cuz he knows I like mopar's or videos... I get this feeling like he's vicariously living his life through others and I want to live my own life and do the things all myself... I guess those are just the thoughts that go through my head...

The truth is simply this: For many of us, real car guys (especially mopar guys) are far and few between. Maybe not for people like you that live in big cities, but for us rural folks, it's scarce. So to help, socialize and share with others in the car community, we often do it through places like FABO or Youtube.
