food costs are unreal as everyone knows. we go to ruler(kroger) and spend about 80.00 for what used to cost us 40-45. then go to walmart and spend about 180-200 for what used to cost us about 95-100 every 3 weeks.
That's what put me in my current predicament. Food and gas prices doubled, that's an extra $500-600 a month now I have to deal with.
Looks like that's another benefit of living in Texas, cheap food and raw ingredients. We have farmer's markets here but you don't end up saving much money vs supermarkets.
