I have a 1970 Duster with the 7 1/4 rear. I want to get longer studs for the rear wheels. Can anyone recommend some? Thanks!

I replaced the rear studs on my 71 Barracuda and I had to buy studs longer than necessary and cut them down to size.

You might have to pull one stud out and measure it to find what you need.

Yeah but those are 1/2" studs, lots easier to find than 7/16" for a 7.25" rear.

Back about 22/23 years ago, when I first bought my 66 Dart I need longer studs for the 4 inch bolt pattern wheels I was using to pass NHRA tech. The head mechanic at work had a bunch of old cross reference catalog from Napa that I found gave the part numbers and dimensions for every wheel stud they sold. I found that the 7/16 studs for a 59/60 Chevy Impala had the same knurl size as the axles in the A body 8 3/4 axles and were 2 7/8 inches long, about an inch and a quarter longer than stock Mopar studs, they fit perfect.

Check and see if any of these will help. Included are the number 610186 which is the recommended replacement for your car. The rest are 7/16-20 lug studs with a .472" or slightly larger knurl. Take a look and see if you find any that might work. Then try Rock Auto or another store with the part number.

In my opinion.... step one would be to knock one out, and measure the knurl. Then go shopping.
( I have a set of 7/16x3" studs, but i have no idea what they fit, (my guess, 55-57 chevy) but I'm 200 miles away. I'd still have to know what knurl you would need, even if I had them in my hand.)

Agreed. If they are coming out anyway, it's the best way to get it right the first time and avoid doing it twice.

I have searched all over the web and I can't come up with anything in the stud size I bought from Napa for my Dart from an early Chevy. The best I can tell you is to call up Mancini racing and ask if the Moroso MOR46150 wheel studs they sell will fit, closest thing I could find.

Being a long time racer, I have lots of options. I can just get hardened cap screws and thread the holes in the flange. I was just thinking some of you guys had come up with another solution. Thanks for all the help!
