I’d build a street beast. That’s just how I like them. Though capable of anywhere @ anytime and a OD would be just fine as that would complete the double duty aspect needed for the “Anywhere” part of the car.
I have plenty of small block parts to build one up. At my disposal for immediate use could be;
A simple 5.9-A-500-3.23’s for a 8-3/4.
Or a slight more beef added build like.…
340/727/2500 stall with a mild cam. I have ether stock J heads or well ported W2’s ready to rock and roll. Which would require a converter change with a nice cam I have waiting for me.
or something a slight bit limited in distance but yet a nice predator within a reasonable distance from the homestead.
A High compression W5/M1-W5 street intake, manual shifting 904-8-3/4, but I’ll need some gears for that as I only have 3.23’s or 4.88’s available and ready to go.
Maybe 4.88’s with a really tall tire….. 30”
I would not bother with a manual trans conversion.
I’ve also never had “Issues” with a carb starting up every time going anywhere in any season or weather condition. Screw the FI! If you already have the entire Magnum set up, then it would be worth it. IF you need FI that bad.
As for the car itself, just get all the paint off and spray it in an epoxy primer and a satin clear coat. You choose the color. Spruce up the wheels & add fat rubber to the rear and skinny ones up front.
Hi Guys , been trough the green rat...my 69 valiant 100 , its so solid but too expensive to restore back to original , fed up of the whole small block 360 and 727 or a833 recipe , i really dont know where to go with this , and i wanna keep it .Fuel injected engines are extremely reliable and you can go everywhere and starts all the time , tought about a 3.6 v6 , 2.4 turbo , 3.5 v6 , even a 4.7 and iron 8.0 v10 ( car was born v8 273 dont have the engine ) i have a 360 magnum and 46re + 3.55 9 1/4 but i already have my duster who as a 360 crate and packing some punch and that is very streetable etc , im just wondering if i go all in with a crazy engine swap or something more simple, so the big question , IF IT WAS YOURS...WHAT WOULD YOU DO ! Sleeper ? Factory ? Drag car ? Road trip car ? Ahahahah
