wiggle of the starting line.

A LOT of times what causes this is the rear losing traction. Paint a white stripe on the rear tires and get videos from either side. Then you can slow the video down later and see how much traction loss you have by watching the stripes. Just s thought.

I have a go pro, and have done some under car videos.(that's how i realized my old SS Springs were junk!) I do have a chalk mark on my tires for that reason. In slow mo i have wanted more then one mark as some time the mark is up and make its hard to tell sometimes.

Never been a fan of pinion snubbers. When they hit the floor it can be such a violent event, it upsets everything down stream. It hits and now the tire takes the hit, but it’s not that easy for the tire to absorb the spike with out rebounding, not the suspension, but the tire itself. Make a snubber that progressively increases load starting from ride height, now your talking.

Installed my new Pinion snubber last night.
The rubber bumper is 1-1/2" tall and the gap between the bumper and the floor is 3/4"(installed in 2nt hole)
What i noticed while i was installing it, was the large sweep of the snubber on the floor pan.
normally you have the width of the snubber, with a shiny spot on the floor pan. Must have been a good 3" sweep.

I think this torn snubber has been giving me grief for some time now.

Three year ago, when i rebuild my rear end and relocated my leaf spring perches, it still had a small scrub pattern on the floor pan.
This may not fixed anything, but time will tell.

I have made a lot of under car videos.......time to make another one and compare.

I have always wanted to do a video of the pinion snubber, and the drive shaft angle during launch. first on was a fail and just to dark.
2nt one worked real good!
This was a street tire race, and it had rain all night. 2 hours to dry the track. NO Track Prep.

The first run is viewing the pinion snubber, all the rest are back behind the rear end.
one slo-mo as i spun hard off the line. one because i had to lift as i was heading to the center line. and the last launch it hooked.
8.90s 1/8 mile and 2.30 60' and the last one i got it to hook! 8.54 with a 1.99 60'

Screeching all the way down the track with my cheater slick and a un prepped track.
Although it spinning the tires all the way down the track, it it going straight!!!
I'm in the right lane.

The last race of the season is a Slicks Race.
My 26/10/15 would not hook any more, when i up dated to the 28/10.5/15 that i have now.

The old slick have maybe one last run in them(not down to the belts yet:D)

Now that i feel like the car is planting the tires better and straighter. I thing i'm going to give it one last go.

If it get me back in to the 7.7x then i will go back to the smaller slick. if it don't the 4:88s are in my future. and will have to stick to 1/8 mile.

Bob thanks so much for that.
I have stupid shock up front. I have to take the shock off, compress the shock and then i have 3 setting. 90/10 which is were they are, 70/30, and then 50/50
