Nice, I have a bud that uses "Allmetal"... he's been doing it for Moons, but I do know last time I spoke with him about that, was 16 years ago. And I'm not sure if he uses that for Lead replacement. I do KNOW, Alan is one of the Best. 2 in charge at Caddy, builds some Sinister Mopars, and has painted my Harley many times (racing is hard on stuff, lol)

With all due respect, I would never use a plastic filler over an open seam. Lead, hell ya.
I silicone bronze or weld the seams before any plastic filler.

read the cans some fillers you can put over bare metal some you cant dont buy the cheap stuff like BONDO the good stuff isnt cheap
 
So I think the mistake I have made then in the past is putting filler directly onto metal without priming.......Would this be a correct statement? It seems that primer needs to be scuffed as well.

Will do! I'll look up the high end body filler I've been using. I love my newer 'Boostang, but I'm still driving on with my Swinger 340. After 18 months, I finally got my Lunati Voodoo solid roller cam and lifters. I'm still in awe of all the work you've done on that old 'Cuda. Keep the faith, Brother.
