F#%k Me!

I was closer than you. I was in Mt. Vernon! I never got to meet Ron. I have a couple pictures from R&R right before it closed. It was definitely picked clean!
Ron started R & R with his brother (I assume a silent partner). Ron was a true Mopar enthusiast, collector, but he was in the Mopar parts business. For those that have not heard the story of R &R, it was probably the largest Mopar yard of its time. He had a huge pole building with his collection, his goal to have 1 of every hemi and six pack car, all transmission types, hardtop, post, vert. Many of the cars were rollers but all real. He still lacked a few examples.
Ron flew a small plane all over Ok.,Ar, S, Mo. looking for salvage yards, fence rows, for Mopar. He would find them and haul them home. He had plenty of "locals" bring him parts cars or even good builders. They could get pissed when they came back later needing a part and Ron quoted them the " retail national" price! Was what it was. I sold him plenty of parts and he always paid a fair price to me.
Ron fought cancer for several years and it finally took him. The yard ran for several years after his death, eventually everything being sold and what parts cars were left no one would buy, crushed.
The last time I was there a couple decades ago, I looked thru probably 100 second gen. Chargers for a pair of horns!!!!! NONE!
Ron was just a guy that loved the old Mopars and loved the Mopar parts salvage business.
I am sure there is a lot that could be added.
