So I have a new customer. He is a Chiropractor. He says, “can I do anything for you?” Can you fix my back I say. Bla bla bla. What it boils down to is stretching backward. it seems we spend our lives hunched over. Working on cars, computers, gardening, the list goes on.
I have always prided myself on my flexibility, touching my toes and all that.
He says to lean back while standing. I said, “it hurts to do that”. He said “power through it”
So I did. It has helped me. I have broken 2 vertebrae and a a herniated L5S1 disc.

Yep, most people think that “planking” is good, which it is, but doing reverse planks is even better. A yoga ball / foam roller is super helpful for bending over backwards…

L5 blown, + a few Thoracics... but heck, seems I'm already bending over Backwards. I'm gonna try it though. I'm also going to go see a Chiropractor about a Screen area in the Am.... I'll see if he thinks it will work for me. I was recommended Surgery. I said NO

Sometimes at night I can hear my hart beat, drives me nuts, all I had to do was arch my back backwards and that thumping disappeared, learned this a few years back after talking to a hart doctors nurse of all people.
I do my feet exercises as I lay down for sleep, a countto 100 quicklyevery night , toe ups and down has help blood circulation and my toes move like they should 4 years ago I Sometimes couldn't move my little toe, it moves just fine now. At 64, I need to learn all I can on self help and I like whats being said here, I will indeed try it

I bend over backwards all the time for people and still get screwed. What’s the point.

..lol

Not very manly but a big fan of using yoga to maintain flexibility... L4-L5 surgery about 10 years ago. Still going strong

Good idea about bending backwards for a good stretch.
Another thing that has worked for me is breathing exercises.
And MeMike, I've been doing the foot and toe exercises for a few years like you with good results...

Most of our waking hours is spent compressing our spine, whether sitting or standing. An inversion table is on my list.
Side note, Gramma(now 100) always knew when I visited family as she could see my paw prints above all the door frames from me swinging on them lol.
Glad ya got some relief BP, there is NOTHING like back pain.
