Stabbing engine and trans?

I installed a 440 with the trans attached in my 72 dart. Hood off, back of car as high as I could get it. lowered the combo in and slowly brought the combo down, then brought the back down slowly. Alternated both. was the easiest install. used Shumacher headers and pulled the steering column out to clear the headers. Piece of cake. Good luck!

Seems like I have a few options :)

I searched and googled which way the crossmember is supposed to go....help! lol
 
Nevermind, found an old thread on here. Bolt toward front... I have an 'early' crossmember

FWIW, I leave the nose of the car on the ground. Lift the back up with a solid floor jack. Even the shorter 4sp will drag if I don't.
Note, if you have a deep oil pan it gets a bit harder clearing the K and FW.

Looks killer, did you install the motor and trans together? Hood off? I’m about a month out on swapping my 383 in and can’t wait.
