This all depends on whether you like a tall sidewall or not. I like the older school tall tire, and I have 5.5” wide steel rims, same width as a small bolt Rallye. If you go with a 60 series sidewall, you can run a slightly wider tire like a 235, but if you like a taller tire, 225 is the wax I’m width you should run on a 5.5” wide rim. This is my car with 225/70/14” on a 5.5” small bolt pattern wheel. I think it’s perfect for my liking

That's pretty tall for the front. How's it fit? Any rubbing? Looks really nice, btw.

Went with P205/65 R15 on 15 X 6 rims on all four corners. Tires are Falken pro touring, middle of the road price.

I have 205 70 14s on my 70 Swinger...stock 14 X 6 ralley wheel and stock ride height and stance etc. I think 14 inch tires have a small selection of what sizes are available these days. maybe Coker has a selection.

Just got back from an unplanned work insanity. 205 still has a pretty good selection available but yeah, 14 is getting harder to find. 205/70 or 195/60, anything in between and you're getting Radial T/As.

Installed that on the front briefly - made the wheel harder to turn than I wanted and also limited my turning radius - it rubbed at full lock. Also, having that size on the rear slows down acceleration more than I wanted.
Definitely too wide for the front

I ran 205/70/14 on the front of my 66 Sat, with 15s as fat and tall as I could shove under the wells. Unfortunately, that pic has 15s front

My issue is, I have two different wheel widths and I want the same. I have 14x7 and 14x6 aluminum slots and I really want the same width all around. I guess I'll just go with what I have. lol

Nice looking Dart. Do you run this size on all 4 corners? What size wheels are you running?

I am dreading picking which tires to buy because I know jack-shizz about tires. I need to make a decision in the next few weeks and its giving me anxiety. I have Wheel Vintiques Ralleys in 14" x 6" (4" BS) - front and 14 x 7" (4.5" BS) - rear. Is it imperative to have the same ratio tire front and rear? Looking for white letter tires. I want as wide as I can go safely without rubbing.

I was thinking:
Front
205/70R14

Rear
225/70R14

^^^^Very commonto run different height and width tires front to back.
The '70 AAR Cuda and TA Challengers from factory ran different tires.

I run 215 70 14 on all 4, I'm not sure of the rim width, or back space. fronts don't rub, but I don't think I could go any go any taller. I like the height of the 70 series tires with14 inch rims.

Sorry Rusty, been a little busy.
Here are some pics. Don't have a bunch on this computer.
340 Small Bolt 14"x 5.5" Mopar steelies
215-70/14 tires which are just under 26" tall.
On early A's the 26" tire gets reel close to the bottom of the front fenders. Your experience may differ.
I added a pic for the fix. Some blue painters tape, and a cutoff wheel is what I use. The tape is for a straight line, to cut. Just a small portioned gets clipped with the cutoff wheel, as you can see. I keep my tires right around the 26" mark.
Hope this helps.
PS: The more I look at the first pic, I believe that is when the car had a 205-70/14 on it. Same wheels. That is also a great tire for A bodies.

Thank you very much sir!

I am running 15 x 6 rally wheels on a 69 Barracuda . What is the biggest tire I can run on the front with out rubbing? I am also looking for trim rings (2) for the front as well.

You're probably going to want to create a new thread. This one is about a different vehicle and wheel size and is pretty much concluded at this point.

Thank you to everybody who helped walk me through all of this! Wheel Vintiques held my 14s hostage (literally - they tried to snipe Summit and told me they wouldn't be fulfilling Summit's order but they would sell directly to me for an extra $300) so Summit sent me some 15's. 205/60-15 tires look great, don't make low speed steering a pain, and allow plenty of space for the disc brake kit. Win all around I'd say.

Except for the fact that I have a set of four factory 13's with brand new tires and a set of two 14's with lots of meat filling up my garage. May have to launch some wheels!
