Yep. Sipping on a Driftless Glen barrel pick from Baraboo, Wisconsin. It was picked by a Hy Vee store manager in Cedar Rapids.
What do you think of it? I think you are the best at knowing what is good.

Perhaps it is time to consider moving?
It is a 125 proof rye. It is very full bodied with a lot of spice. There is a little light peanut and citrus flavors mid palate. The finisg is spicy and long. My last sip was 10 min. or so ago and I can still taste it. It's very mouth coating. It's "in your face" with the rye spice. They are a 75% rye, 25% barley so it doesn't have that sweet corn flavor like many high rye bourbons. If you like rye this is one for you.

I have 226+ bottles and no BV. I need to get a bottle just in case Fred stops by.
I'll take that back, I do have some Black Velvet. It was found in a old warehouse and sold to a distillery in SE Iowa. It is called Obtanium Whiskey and is 151 proof. Interesting and damn tasty. Photos below.

I prefer the corn but I should try some good Rye and do a bit more tasting.
Ya know me I do like my Canadian whiskey about the best.
Well tonight I'll end up with the cheap Black Velvet but starting out with a Bib and Tucker on ice.

TMM does like a good Rye! Me personally most of them are just to “hot” for me. Maybe spicey is a better word? I keep them on my shelf for honored guests like TMM but like you Fred, my go to is Canadien or Scotch, ok, or maybe Bourbon, o and I do like Gin, well then there is tequila of course, summer times ya just can’t pass a rum and coke either. And sipping a cognac late at night staring at the moon well that is a luxury. Well crap where was I? Oh yeah the Ryes are a bit to spicey since I am so picky, but I mean i won’t pour it out if ya fill my glass with one!

Now for something completely different! Definitely applies here! Fred I am still trying to sort out how to fit the super cool console. For those that might not know, Fred swung by my shop and spent the night before he headed off to a car show. Damn John i'm gonna miss stopping by your place when you move south. Had a good time with you and Hemi last trip. Gonna have to go way south to visit with ya and whatever you have to drink is what I'll drink because it's all about friends and what ever is in the bottle that is passed around is fine with me.
Maybe not Gin though that's nasty stuff. LOL
