Hot Rod Magazine

They call it mindless Hollywood entertainment!! I admit the RoadKill episodes I like are usually the ones where they bought an old car out of a salvage yard and got it running, and took off for a road trip. Still mostly just mindless entertainment!!
That Dulchic is a totally laid back soul!!

My wife and I both liked watching Count’s Customs, Gas Monkey and Misfit Garage. We realize we could never afford them, but they were entertaining without going too far over the top - such as Mark Worman at GYC routinely did.

Right now, Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, and Faster With Finnegan are the family favorites. Our favorites are when they find interesting old stuff for road trips. And they encourage everyone to find a clunker, get it road worthy, then make some memories.

That said, it pretty much describes my friends and my early car experience. I would like to see them give the name and locations of the boneyards that will sell someone an entire vehicle that can be revived.

I also would like them to say what they pay for them. It would also be useful if they gave an honest accounting of the money it cost - including sponsored/friend/or vast personnel collection donations to the project.

We have MotorTrend on the satelitte/ same reruns over and over. They have episodes on Demand also but 99% of the time just reruns. I need to be able to stream on the TV. We have a dumb TV like ME!!!!

I had a package where Motor Trend was the only channel I watched. Just canceled that portion.

Believe me I tried. I even put an ad in the newspaper. No takers.
I just got rid of about 1200 magazines also. It was very hard to do, that's for sure! But like you say nobody wanted them. Tried selling on ebay. I'd be dead for 30 years just trying to average 75 cents an issue. They're gone and I'm not stressing over it anymore. :)

^^^^^Reading those darn Mopar mags over the years, you always saw something in each issue you wanted to build. Just another old car disease!! Like you said Scamp, nobody would buy them back then. I filled the back of the pickup full and hauled them down the hill to the lime sink hole and tossed them about maybe 2007. Today I do read Hemmings Muscle car and also their Classic car mags. I read and pitch every month.

I think that roadkill is silly, how many people do you think would actually own or drive any of the cars that they patch together.
I'd drive most of those cars they slap together, not all of them. The roadkill attitude got me to take my cars places, going across the country. I did the proper repairs for what was needed before I left, and had a great time. Look forward to doing it again. I can't afford to restore all my cars, but having them roadworthy and operable makes it so I can enjoy them as I fix them up. And my scruffy cars get more attention than I would have ever imagined.

X2. The last sentence is the true point of those shows.

From the article I have from years ago, he was against using them, said F, M, and J spindles didn't have the right geometry.

And, he has been PROVEN wrong by many people...including Bill Reilly who ran the numbers.

Gotcha. He's also pretty adamant about rack and pinions, and there's plenty of cars that have **** that thought down.

I just got 2 years of Mopar action. Can’t wait for it to get here, been a few years.
I used to enjoy it and the crazy NY style of journalism!!:rofl:Last copy I had was probably early 2000s. I bet half or more of their articles now days are modern Mopars and late model Gen swaps!!!! I guess they an bet a dead horse only so many decades!!??:poke::lol:

Got another issue of hot rod the other day, talk about boring, what happened to the helpful tech tips? All they do is high dollar builds. Is any of the mopar Magazine's still around. Has The digital age ruined the printed magazines too? I don't want to set in front of a stupid computer all day
Yes $$$$$
I have seen the Mopar aftermarket stuff availability shrink considerably in the past 20
Yrs. Parts that are available for us are 40 to 50 percent
Higher than small block Chevy

I figured 30$ for 2 years it’ll be worth it for a little bit if reading. I like the late motor swaps in old cars.

A few years ago, was it Mopar Action die, then was sold ,,,,, and discontinued for a while??? People had just paid subscription renewals the c*** ht the fan with subscribers. Maybe it was a another Mopar mag??? Dunno!!
Cheap reading.

Not just MA, the whole Harris Publishing company folded.
Yes, and if people with paid subscriptions contacted them, the new publisher honored Harris's obligations. They did for me and a Mopar buddy of mine.
