I have a 67 barracuda. Ive owned 69s & now a 67. Ive always wanted a 68 but couldnt find one in my price range. Would it be a sin to put 68 side lights on my 67 ? I always liked the round side lights. Has anyone done it & if so did you splice them in to the front & rear park light wires ? Im still on the fence. Just hate to cut holes in rust free fenders & quarters.

NO! It is NOT a sin. '68 is the coolest year.

Beakers, THAT is a sin.

I had a 68 Roadrunner and I also thought the round side-marker lights were cool. Go ahead, I won't vote to ban you from the site.

But...You may have to answer to the "Mopar Spirits of the Purist"!

Holy cow, I thought this was going to be about an LS swap. It’s your car do what you want, whatever makes you happy.

o my god no my dad & my uncles would come back & take turns kicking my *** thats just the ones that have passed away

Do it !! Shoe Goo them on as they are non functional reflective only. Not harm no foul.

You car do as you like.

BUT....

my friend has a 67 dart with 68 hood with Dodge script and 68 fender top turn signal and side markers on the front fenders only.

Looks fine but he gets a lot of comments like is that a 68 or a 67 and those are wrong for a 67, etc.

He jokes that it's a 67 1/2

So if you can take the heat and don't mind the constant questioned looks on people's faces, drill away.

Personally if it's a 67 leave it a 67.

67 was the best year for all 3 A bodies IMHO

What do you mean by “non-functional- reflective only”.
68s are the opposite, - functional & NOT reflective.

I am partial to 68s myself,
That said- there is inherently a safety factor with having more illumination on your car, and as far as lights, I think the 68s are the coolest of the Mopar side lights.
On the flipside, the 67’s have a lot of one year only uniqueness to them, and the side panel does have a “cleaner” look without any lights/markers/reflectors.

Are '68 side markers a sin? No more than having a 360 in it, a 904 with part throttle kickdown, '73 and up disc brakes, aftermarket buckets, headers, or a host of other common modifications that weren't specific to that year.

So is it a sin to put 70 Cuda hockey stripes on a 71 Barracuda instead of the big *** billboards?

I do like the round marker lights on the 8, but I wouldn't go to the trouble of putting them on a 7.

I personally like the no marker light look of the 1967 the best of all on a second Gen Barracuda but I also have to admit that the ‘68 Mopar marker lights are the coolest marker lights ever placed on a vehicle... Sir, you have my blessing. :poke:

As my friend (with a straight face) would put it "it's a late '67". And the listener would undoubtedly be shaking his/her head in agreement.

Personally I always thought the 68 markers looked like a tacky JC Whip Me part, glad my grandfather never put them on.

Stick on whatever reflector look you want, if you must.
I wouldn't drill holes, the originality may pay off $ down the road.
