You really want a "real" electric water pump if you are wanting electric. I ran that little external deal for 2 years and it consistently gave me issues. Would get hot and stop, or have a bad connection and stop, etc.
I now run the "real" moroso pump that replaces the whole pump with backing plate. 4 years. No issues. It is $ however
