I was at a cruise nite and a guy with a nice (original) 67 Fast Back 383 4speed claimed his window trim which was the stainless held in by clips like the 68/69 was original to his (concours) built in March 1967 Barracuda. Has anyone seen a 67 with the stainless trim original. I've only seen the Lock Strip window seals like mine came with built around the same time as his.

The story is the original owner never modified anything save some window tint and any repairs and one repaint. Passed away a few years ago. Im wondering if not original maybe the trim got an upgrade during the repaint. I thought they all got the look strip in 67.
 
Our 67 has the pos mylar lockstrip. Heres a pic of date code from original dash pad. Built after the fb you're talking about.

It's not original. Period. It's something a lot of people have done as a mod, going back 50 years, because that plastic lockstrip didn't last 5 years in the sun. Back when the stainless was still available from the dealer, it would be a no-brainer to replace the trim any time you had to replace glass. If he pulled the glass to replace it with tinted glass, well, there you go... It's possible the dealer who replaced the glass just did the trim automatically, because he knew the customer would otherwise complain when it didn't last. So the trim wouldn't show up as a specific item in the old owner's receipts.

Thanks I agree with your points. In this case the window tint is the film style but who knows what went down with the one repaint.

5 years, try 8 months, I have the receipt to prove it.
