Thoughts on this noise from new clutch?

Recently installed McLeod clutch started making a creaking/popping sound. The shop that installed it said they can't figure out what's going on so I thought one you guys might have a clue.

Maybe spring at pin in pedals? Mine kinda sounded like that. The pin was worn and missing the clip that holds in place. Just guessing though.

I wouldn't be of much help.... Going through a real learning curve with a 3 pedal car one time I learned that the engineering that goes into Pedal ratios and where things need to be for proper Clutch operation is not just putting parts on..... And that's with mechanical linkage.

IMO if it wasn't doing it when the shop finished your project and it is now then something has changed and if they want to do this type of work then "they" need to figure it out. Starting at the Pedal assembly to make sure your bushings are good is a start. Did they remove the large Over center spring on the Pedal assembly? Seems as though I read something wonky about all that but I don't know where.... hopefully someone will chime in and help you out....

Sounds to me like it up under the dash. Can you feel any of it in you foot? Like when it clicks you get a notched or stopped feeling? It sounds very consistent too. Is the mater cylinder or its mount tight, if it s a bit loose it rocking could make that noise going off and on the pedal.

Get down there and push on it with your hand slowly. You should be able to feel where it's coming from, and maybe even see the source. Plus your ears will be that much closer. Sounds like it's in the linkage somewhere, and probably a really easy fix.

My buddy’s 69 dart did this. C clip popped off and pedal shaft slid out of one side. Had to pull seat to get in there to fix it.

Thanks guys. I’m thinking it could be that the firewall is flexing. I may have to build a brace

Disconnect the push rod from the pedal and see if it persists. At the same time see if the pedal is sloppy. There is a member (ValiantOne) here who sells new pedal bushings if that's the issue.

I don't feel any hesitation in the pedal. Also, the sound isn't always there, it comes and goes. I can wiggle the pedal a little bit from side to side so maybe something is binding a bit. I sent the video to the tech guys at Silver Sport Transmission (they sold me the clutch package) and got a nice reply. The tech thinks it could be fire wall flex. I'll take a look at it this weekend and see if I can see any flexing.

The linkage seems a bit sloppy. This could be the issue. However I could not get the noise to recreate just pushing the clutch by hand. It seems to start out fine but after driving for a while, the "creaking and popping" sound starts.

To me, that's too much in and out. Maybe not the problem but I would shim that with some Stainless Shims and either a nylon or a bronze thrust washer and get it aligned with the Master Cylinder as best as I could to prevent side loading.

*edit* I went out to my car and tried to do what you did and my pedal does not move at all in and out, to the point I was deflecting the pedal arm to try to do so.
