'69 Cuda Power steering coupler options

The coupler on my 1969 Barracuda is shot and after removing the column I find that the coupler housing splines are worn out as well. When you turn the wheel it turns but the power steering box spline does not. Anyway, looking for options. My questions are:

1. Do the power steering box male splines have a tendency to wear when the coupler housing female splines are worn? In other words, should I be considering replacing the PS box?

2. Should I consider converting to a more u-joint type coupler like the Borgeson 036425 Steering Coupler I find on ebay? If I do, are there things I need to consider about shortening the column shaft and drilling it out?

3. If I go back with the stock repair kit and new coupler housing, are some better than others?
