That and gearing. I used to cruise at 80 mph or better with my old stuff, 3.23 gears, no overdrive - 3500 rpm. New cars, 6-8-10 speeds, same mph, 1500-2000 rpm.

I wish my Taurus only spun 1500-2000 at 70mph. Its a bit over that. It has 184k on it and uses no oil.
