Just want to put this out there.Torque converter may be going bad. I had one that the converter stater locked up and the car would stall when putting it in gear.You could drive it with one foot on the gas the other on the brake and pop it in neutral but it got to the point that it was locked solid.
This is the worst case. Sounds like you have other issues with the linkage along with electrical.
I just wanted to address the Torque Converter.
