Thumb wheel radio

Hopefully you can find an old radio repairman. Modern repairmen just want to gut the insides and replace. One common problem with these is a small gear inside that breaks and stops the needle from moving. These are no longer available but I have been successful in repairing with superglue. To keep it original you may have to collect other radios for parts. Good luck.
I use a fine wire to close the gap in the gear and then JB Weld to keep it all together.
About 90% of the time fresh capacitors bring these back to life. The other times are new clutch for the tuner, output transistor, or phonelic circuit board crack.
