1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

To address the clearance issues. I was wrong about the pressure plate bolts. They have the standard 1/2" hex head. But nonetheless, there's plenty of room to get even a thick impact socket on all the bolts, all the way around. The pressure plate has generous scallops that give plenty of room. I've done this in the past a LOT on U Haul trucks when I was a kid. We had their account for maintenance and they always wanted to upgrade to the biggest clutch that'd fit the stock flywheel when it was clutch time. Most of them had the 460 based 370 Lima engines and they'd accept a 11.950 clutch where an 11 was. I think the reason we never had those clearance issues was we also used Borg and Beck branded pressure plates. There are aftermarket versions too and I think that's where you run into issues there. Anyway here's a few pictures. You can see everything will work fine. At any rate, this will give a full 1/2" more disc coverage. That should make a difference especially considering the number of sprAngs in the pressure plate.
