I agree - it's the road that leads to hell.

My Duster isn't nice, in fact it's ugly, but the parts I've worked on are all good to go and that's good enough for me. My road runner on the other hand - disassembled for years.
I bought my '68 Dart in about 1997. I actually drove it a few times up and down the street, although it was not in the best of shape mechanically. 2 years later, I moved it into my newly completed shop and started tearing it down. The goal: LIKE A SHOWROOM NEW CAR!!!! Yeah, right!:rofl:
Here I am 23 years later (having completed a professional career, put 3 kids through college, and retired) and I'm finally putting it back together. With my knee aching, my back pinching, my shoulder needing surgery, I'm making slow but sure progress.
My advice: Find a deal on one of these CL finds, bring it home, make it run, make it safe, and go have yourself a blast driving the darn thing. Leave the showroom restorations to Jay Lenno.
